Making Bag Template (part 2)

I used a domestic overlocker and sewing machine to construct my bag together. All the side seams and flap seam are overlocked and then folded over to each side panel and top stitched over. This was to make it more durable and structured. The bottom panel and hems are all done by the sew machine.

The end result wasn't the best due to these reasons:

Problems with the Fabric:

Many... The sewing machine marked the material badly.

The weight of the fabric made the flap lean to one side.

I need a medium weight waterproof fabric without stretch instead to get the appearance that I am looking for.

Construction:

As all the seams were Icm I don't think I thought through the process as much as I could have. The bottom panel was a struggle to attach on and I really do need to thing of a better way to construct it or even pattern cut it out. In addition I'm not sure how to do all the side seams as I want as seen in the bottom left picture. This caused the flap to lean towards one side. However, this could be prevented by using a different fabric as I said previously I would change.

Overall, the pattern does work how I wanted and I need to add the essential accessories like back straps to complete the look but I can develop on this reflection and try again.
