TROVYA is a brand created by Lucy Phillips, that is looking at Technical Jackets for women for everyday, outdoor usage, but to make them more fashionable. I really like this idea as the outdoor market is an area that hasn't seen much develop into making a new aesthetic.

What is your brand concept?

My concept is: Women’s Technical Jacket Range suited for exploring Cornish landscapes. They will be sustainable and stylish. The idea behind this is to encourage people to explore nature more as as way to de-stress and have an escape from busy, everyday life. Also because I find that most technical sportswear jackets are very plain - not that stylish.

What sports do you focus on the most and why?

Everyday outdoor wear, so its not really a sports.

Name one of your design cues and expand?

Design cues are: attachment, simplicity and fulfilment. Attachment - bonds and memories that we all have and being able connect with them, feeling secure, feeling comfortable with ourselves, feeling tranquility when with family and when in the places that we love. I will show this through my designs by focusing on comfort through materials and shape.

Between aesthetics and functionality whats more important?

I think functionally is more important in sportswear but aesthetics can be just as important because it will make people feel good about themselves if they like what they’re wearing

Where do you get inspiration from?

I have researched how others feel when surrounded my nature by doing a customer research questionnaire. I've researched technical jackets, fashionable jackets and sustainability within sportswear. I want the print and details to relate to memories, love and attachment to nature.
