This brand is created by Millie Winson, where she is looking at creating a range of water sports clothing that are unique to what is normally produced in that industry. She wants them to be able to mix and match and to have fun in them, which is something important to me too.

What is your brand concept?

For me it’s changing the perceptions of water sports clothing to become something that you can have fun with, mix and match, experimenting with colour and looking and feeling your absolute best whether you are out of the water or in the water. My range will include gear pre watersport, wetsuits during and windproof garments for after.

what sports do you focus on the most and why?

Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Kneeboarding, Ringo Riding Because these are my favourite sports and what I have been doing since I was a kid.

what market do you think needs more focus on in the future?

Young sports women who are looking for good quality but good priced watersports gear that is flattering and fits well.

name one of your design cues and expand?

Nostalgia. What Nostalgia means to me? A sense of Belonging. Identity/Family. Character. Place- Falmouth, Mylor Harbour, the sea. A story- Watersports. I have been travelling down to Falmouth with my family every year since I was born on boating holidays. My Dad taught me to waterskii as he is used to be a waterskiing instructor so ever since I was a kid I’ve been trying out more and more watersports.

between aesthetics and functionality whats more important?

They are equally as important to me because I believe to get the fullest potential from your garment you need both.

where do you get inspiration from?

Family, past experiences of me interacting with the sports. Place- Falmouth and what nostalgic value it holds for me as well as the environment. Colour- what colours I interact with most in the clothes that I wear and what patterns and shapes I am drawn too. My book collection maybe from art exhibitions I have been to or niche one off books about graphic design that interests me.
