Using a different approach, I tried to create my blazer through finding my measurements and creating the block from that. This meant using the stand and maths to get the right proportions etc.

I had to measure:

- Bust

- Waist

- Hip

- Shoulder (SP-Nape-SP)

- Neckline

- Nape to Bust

- Nape to Waist

- Waist to Hip

- Upper Arm

- Arm length

This was to get an accurate jacket for my own body. I started by making two rectangles that was the size from Nape to Hip in length and hip to centre front in width. From this we created neck line and went to the stand to see if it was right. Once on the stand had to make sure all the line matched and create a shoulder line and arm hole. I don't think my arm hole was the right curve or shape as it has created a weird look on the shoulder and something i need to look into.

Also I think my sleeve head wasn't right, as my arm holes seemed big I brought up my bust line, but they became bigger. After this I think I confused myself too much and didn't execute it like I should have. The sleeve also was articulated but I think I removed too much from the sleeve to make it narrower, as it would tight to get on my arm. I do like having the articulation, so I will keep that in my blazer but not this tightly.

Overall, I'm not keen on this method. I feel using the blocks help with the construct as they're already measured to fit well and the armhole is right for the sleeve, etc. I thought there was too much estimating on what

looked right and turned out to be wrong (e.g armhole shape, etc). On reflection I think I will return back to my other pattern and continue using that as my garment, as it fits me better and has less alterations to make.
