So last time the dress did what I wanted (jumper part could be wrapped around the waist) but wasn't perfect and a lot had to be changed:
- Reduced the size of the skirt by 5cm
- Created more curve around the bottom to create split idea.
- Reduced the sleeve length by 3cm
- Increased the width of the sleeve by 1cm, so wasn't as tight

- Added a collar to the top, so the separate piece were attached by the neck
This day wasn't a making day

for me, as I was messing up on very simple things or I just didn't like the machine. I wasn't feeling this at all but I'm keeping with the idea hoping the next toile can redeem it in some way. I feel that this piece isn't looking right due to the fabric choice. Its too lightweight and not giving me what I see in my head visually. This means for the next toile (hopefully the last one for this dress) I need to use a fabric similar to what I'm thinking to, like a sweatshirt or thicker jersey, rib, etc. There are still a
lot of alterations for this piece:
- Reduce the size of the waist, as seen in the picture to the left
- Practice how to add a waistband or elastic to a garment
- Change the jumper so the split is only on the front of the jumper. This means eliminating the one piece side of it.
- Need to do finishings, e.g cover seam

I believe this piece will become something special for this collection but I know I'm going to have to put a lot more work
into it to make sure its what I'm wanting it to be. It was still able to wrap around my waist but I do found it hard to get back on only due to the front and back having a split. I think this can be resolved somehow and will hopefully see the next toile as being the final piece for this garment, meaning I can fully concentrate on the jacket element of this outfit.
