Toile 2: Split Side Jacket

As the first toile went well for me, I was looking forward to making the changes for this jacket and getting it (hopefully) to how I envisioned. I changed the fabric to a Polyester Sateen, as this works well with the welting machine and has a slight translucent, lightweight similar quality to what I want to use.

What I changed?:

- Used the Welting machine, instead of overlock

- Added the hood and zip for fastening

- Extended the outer panel over the mesh by 5cm, deep glue hemmed

- Reduced the length of the sleeve (discussed in previous blog post)

- Reduce the length of the spilt side by 16cm to make sure the zip fitted, 2cm glued hem

There are still areas of the jacket that I want to look further into, but this will be the final toile I do for the review on Friday. The areas I want to change are:

- Make the outer shell

panel bigger to reduce the gathering effect on the front.

- Mark out where the side needs to be when constructing

- Reduced the size of the sleeve slightly (3cm)

-More structure to the hood to make it stand better when not being worn.

Overall, I'm happy to show this for my final toile review and hopefully test it out through the break.
