Research is very important within this summer, to gain the knowledge I need for my dissertation and collections before I go back down to make sure I am ahead and ready for a very busy year! The Rodin Exhibition has been something I wanted to see since it was showing at the British Museum but never seem to get the chance until its last day.
My main focus was on the Ancient Greek Sculptures due to the need of these artefacts for inspiration and research. However, it gave a good insight to how these sculptures have influence many artist and people (especially Rodin) and what they have taken from these statues or ideals.
"This is real flesh... It must have been moulded by kisses and caresses... one almost expects when touching this torso, to find it warm" - Auguste Rodin (1911)
