A beautiful exhibition for an amazing Designer/Couturier. This is Alaïa first UK solo exhibitions of his work and is very recommended by me and many newspaper as a must-see exhibition in London this summer. The work spanned from early 1980s to his last collection in 2017.
Conceived and co-curated with Monsieur Alaïa before his death in November 2017, the exhibition charts his incredible journey from sculptor to couturier, his nonconformist nature and his infectious energy for fashion, friendship and the female body.
I found this exhibition very inspiring towards my collection in 3rd year and helped me realise that I need to experiment with what I'm trying to show within my clothes. His use of drapery and fabric choice was amazing and really reflected what my inspiration could produce.
